Loverboy was on to something with this lyric from their infamous song, "Working For The Weekend." Thousands of people are flooding Toronto for a series of Taylor Swift concerts.

Oh, and the Edmonton Oilers are playing there too.

Following Connor McDavid's historic performance, the Oilers had to travel to Toronto on Friday for their Saturday game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast revealed details about this weekend's clash of concerts and hockey in Toronto.

"I know some people who were downtown at Taylor Swift tonight," Friedman began, "and they were texting me, 'It is carnage down here.'"

Thursday, November 14th, was the first of six concerts expected to happen in the metropolis. She will perform again on the 15th and 16th, take a few days off, and then perform again on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.

Then Friedman mentioned a quick tidbit before moving on in the conversation.

"The Oilers, they couldn't stay at their regular hotel because they couldn't get in there," Friedman revealed. "It's bananas in our city."

Straight from the horse's mouth to everyone's ears. Swifties are gathering to be entertained by the biggest pop star of this generation.

Funnily enough, this isn't the first time there has been a kerfuffle over hotels between hockey players and music artists.

In February, Jaromir Jagr had a jersey retirement ceremony that prevented Drake from scooping up the nicest rooms. Instead, Jagr grabbed them for himself and his guests.

This time around, it looks like Swift's team was able to secure room and board before the Copper and Blue.

Let's hope there isn't any "bad blood" between them.
