Vancouver Canucks fans' appear to be consumed with Connor McDavid.
EDMONTON -- The 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs have an all-Canadian match-up to look forward to.

Last night the Vancouver Canucks punched their tickets to the second round - and the opportunity to tango with the Edmonton Oilers in a best-of-seven series. You can bet it will be even more entertaining (for both fanbases) than the first Oilers series this playoff run.
As far as the regular season goes, the Oilers were dominated by the Canucks. Three of the four games were played over the opening 13 game stretch of the season - where they have a 3-9-1 record. The final game came during the home stretch, which kept an injured Connor McDavid out of game action.
So the Canucks haven't played the best version of the Oilers yet this year. With that in mind, here is how the team's lined up during the regular season.
These are certainly impressive numbers - but again, three of these four games happened before the Oilers got their act together. The Canucks can't think that they have this "in the bag" before it even begins.
Canucks fans' certainly think they do. Just last night, Canucks fans' were spotted sharing their expletive-filled thoughts about McDavid.
McDavid has been dominant in the playoffs so far - 12 points in five playoff games to lead the NHL playoff scoring race. He also leads the NHL in playoff assists so far, with 11.
They haven't even played a game against each other yet and Canucks fans are already chanting these things. While it's a welcomed change to have some spice in this year's playoffs - this feels a bit like McDavid lives rent free in Canucks fans' minds.
As if this kind of chanting will somehow make McDavid play worse - in the very least it's entertaining, and the beef between these two teams' fan bases is a welcomed element to the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
