EDMONTON -- Tonight is the most important game of the Edmonton Oilers season.

It's Game six against the Vancouver Canucks and they are down in the series 3-2. They must win tonight in order to stay in the playoffs.

It all comes down to this.

It's kind of poetic that the Oilers are playing the team that sent the opening of their season into a tailspin. Just like the Oilers recovered from their 3-9-1 regular season start, they have an opportunity to recover from being down 3-2 in the series.

They have a chance to rebound from a sub-par Game 5 effort. And they have chosen which goalie will lead the way for them.

Stuart Skinner will be entrusted to right the ship for the Oilers - to prevent their season from reaching a premature ending.

He was pulled in a loss three games ago and served as the backup while Calvin Pickard was between the pipes for Games four and five.

Thanks to the New York Rangers winning their series against the Carolina Hurricanes, tonight's game is the only one on the schedule. It will happen at 6 PM Mountain Time tonight.

It's time for the Oilers - and Skinner - to prove that they are champion material.
