EDMONTON – Everyone needs a little bit of help.

Especially if it’s the playoffs, and especially if you're the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers went into Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings down 2-1 in the series. They brought the series to within one with a dominant 7-4 victory on Friday night.

With under two minutes left in the opening period of the game, a clip compilation was shown on the Jumbotron. It featured many highlights of Zack Kassian's playoff appearances with the Oilers.

Then, the camera found Kassian in a suite. Once the crowd saw him, they went nuts.

It’s not strange for Kassian to attend a game at Rogers Place. After all, he is one of their pro scouts.

In 37 playoff games for the Oilers, Kassian recorded six goals and three assists. He was known to Oilers fans as a player who could inject energy into the crowd and team by throwing his body into the action or mixing it up in a post-whistle scrum.

He retired from playing hockey this past summer before joining the Oilers organization as a pro scout.
