EDMONTON -- Tonight superstar faces off against superstar.

Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers will play against Nathan MacKinnon's Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche just played last night on the road versus the Minnesota Wild.

The Oilers had a quick morning skate this morning, which featured some interesting lineup changes. The first major adjustment for the team has been the substitution of Sam Carrick out for Derek Ryan to come in.

Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman are flanking McDavid for tonight's game. Warren Foegele will be back in the top six on a line with Adam Henrique and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Corey Perry is back down with Ryan McLeod and Evander Kane.

These changes make sense for a few reasons. For one, Foegele brings more speed to the top six - which is something the Avalanche have in spades.

The Avalanche's top line of MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Jonathan Drouin is incredibly dangerous. By countering with Draisaitl, McDavid and Hyman - the Oilers can go power versus power.

Tonight will be a great opportunity for the Oilers to shake off their embarrassing loss to the Dallas Stars and build towards the playoffs.
