EDMONTON -- While drama unfolds on the ice, it appears that fans can expect to see a lot of it in a binge-able format.
A few hockey insiders have reported that an upcoming documentary behind-the-scenes style series has been commissioned by Amazon - and will feature about a dozen players, one of which is believed to be Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl.
David Pastrnak, Quinn Hughes and William Nylander are also believed to be part of the "main cast." It's believed that there will be other appearances by various teammates of the main cast in various capacities. Connor McDavid is believed to be among them.
Connor McDavid and Leon DraisaitlYesterday, The Fourth Period confirmed that Amazon has attained Rogers broadcast rights for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 NHL seasons.
With most people turning to streaming for their entertainment, it was only a matter of time until something like this happened. I'd expect more deals like this to be made in the very near future.
With Draisaitl's personality - along with being incredibly quotable - he seems like one of the best players from the Oilers who will draw fans to the series while providing entertaining content as well.
