The Edmonton Oilers are on the brink of elimination in the Stanley Cup Final. On November 11th, many thought that the Oilers making the playoffs was a pipedream.

Instead the team dug deep and found a way to make it through three rounds of playoff hockey. They turned it into a reality, that's an incredible accomplishment.

Many hockey minds are looking at the Oilers' future now. In a few short weeks, the Oilers will be able to sign Leon Draisaitl to a contract extension.

One hockey insider believes those conversations have already begun.

Frank Seravalli was on Oilers Now with host Bob Stauffer last night. He had some interesting things to say involving the Oilers and a few key contracts.

In speaking about the trio of Draisaitl, Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard, Seravalli dropped major insight into one of those players' future with the team, "I believe the Oilers have already begun discussions with Draisaitl's camp."

Stauffer added his own thoughts to the mix as far as the potential length of Draisaitl's next deal, "they're not looking for the Auston Matthews' four-year-deal here, they're looking for the long term deal."

How much can Oilers' fans expect Draisaitl's next deal to be worth?

"Two years from now when the Oilers take the ice, those same three guys (McDavid, Draisaitl & Bouchard) are going to add up to $40-million."

Stauffer responds, "16, 14 and 10?" Seravalli responds with a simple, "that's my projection."

"This is the only place on planet Earth [where] both of them can play together. Where else are you going to go to play with Connor McDavid?"
