The Oilers have signed Viktor Arvidsson who last played for the Los Angeles Kings. The forward had an incredibly limited regular season in 2023-24. He only played 18 games, but recorded 15 points while averaging 16:41 of ice time per game.
Several reports are coming out even though it has not been made official by the team. At the time of this writing the reported deal is a two-year $4-million cap hit contract.
He has scored north of 20 goals five times in his career, and has eclipsed 30 goals twice. He played with Mattias Ekholm on the Nashville Predators and they are reportedly good friends.

Arvidsson spent most of his time this past season on a line with Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore.
It looks like the Oilers have gotten Leon Draisaitl his shooter. Arvidsson has averaged three shots per game over his entire NHL career. Over the last three years he's averaged 3.4, 3.0 and 3.3 shots on goal per game.

This is only the opening of free agency, but the Oilers found a great value contract with Arvidsson.
