Streaming Options

( < 50% rostered on Yahoo, ranked by matchup)

(NEW) Anthony Stolarz, FLA vs. MTL (21% rostered)

Stolarz gets his second start in three games and why not? The Panthers are rolling even though their winning streak was interrupted, and Stolarz has been a fantastic backup for this season, affording Sergei Bobrovsky a lot of rest. Stolarz is one of the top streaming options of the night.

Ilya Samsonov, TOR vs. ARI (76% rostered)

Just a note on Samsonov -- as of Wednesday evening, the Leafs have not announced their starter and I don't suspect they will until practice at the earliest. Coming off a 6-2 loss following a seven-game winning streak and against a bad team, isn't this a situation where you could give Martin Jones a chance to stay in the three-man rotation or start Joseph Woll to see where he's at? Both Samsonov and Jones have pretty good career numbers against the Coyotes -- who doesn't -- so there's merit for each goalie to get a look.

Editor's note: Looks like Woll will start in his first game back from a high-ankle sprain.

(NEW) Justus Annunen, COL vs. CHI (2% rostered)

Does Annunen scare me? Yes, a little, because he hasn't really been lights-out at any time this season, even though he has an opportunity to do so against the Hawks. I think a win is very likely, but I'm unsure what save numbers he will be putting up.

(NEW) Spencer Martin, CAR at CLB (3% rostered)

As Martin continues to impress, he's going to get more playing time for the Canes. This will be his fourth appearance in seven games, and Pyotr Kochetkov has to watch his back a little bit because Martin might force a timeshare if he keeps this up. This is a good streaming matchup against a mediocre Jackets offense, and the Canes have dominated this series in recent years.

Philipp Grubauer, SEA vs. PIT (17% rostered)

If seems as though if Grubauer wins, he stays in. The Bruins were his toughest test, and he hung in there (with one goal called back) to win in a shootout. If he has another strong performance, you assume he's just going to be the starter going forward. The Pens have found their scoring touch -- Rickard Rakell scored twice -- with 15 goals in their past three games. Given how tough good goalie starts can be hard to come by, if you're willing to risk it, Grubauer's a viable streamer with potentially long-term value.

Kaapo Kähkönen, SJ vs. ANA (4% rostered)

This feels like it's a viable start and there's definitely a case to be made -- the Ducks are only slightly better and Kähkönen made 31 saves in an overtime loss in their previous meeting. Kähkönen allowed seven goals in his previous game against the Devils but he came in cold for the injured Mackenzie Blackwood. The Ducks have dominated this series, 11-3-0, in their past 14 matchups, but it should be much more competitive than that.

David Rittich, LA at VAN (28% rostered)

I don't think Cam Talbot did enough against his former team to earn his second straight start, which means Rittich gets his fourth start in five games. It's the last game of their road trip, their third game in four nights, so certainly fatigue will be a factor and the Canucks let one slip away after blowing a 2-0 lead against the Pens on Tuesday. Rittich won games but he wasn't consistently stellar, and the Canucks' elite offense is certainly a worry, even with their talent now spread out on three lines and two equal power-play units.

Petr Mrázek, CHI vs. COL (34% rostered)

The Hawks are 3-10-0 over the past four years against the Avs, and there's too many things that need to go right for them to win. Mrázek might get a lot of saves and a good save percentage, but it's likely that's all you'll get.

Daniil Tarasov, CLB vs. CAR (2% rostered)

This is the second game of a back-to-back for the Jackets and, since 2021, the Canes have historically dominated this matchup. Their games are unusually low-scoring when one team is usually far better than the other, averaging just 5.4 goals per game all-time. Maybe Tarasov gets the saves and a nice save percentage -- he has been very good in his past two appearances -- but you have to think it would be a big upset if the Canes lost.

Samuel Montembeault, MTL at FLA (25% rostered)

Montembeault had a great game to snap the Habs' five-game losing streak but the fact is the Coyotes and Panthers are literally at opposite ends of the spectrum. This is a tough matchup even when Montembeault is playing well. Last season, he faced the Panthers four times and finished with a 0-3-0 record, .850 SP and 5.78 GAA. Granted, the Habs allowed eight power-play goals (!), which skews the stats, but factor that out and it's still pretty bad.

This being hockey, there's obviously a chance of an upset, but expect the Panthers to be heavily favored.
