Mackenzie Blackwood, SJ vs. SEA (11% rostered)
Blackwood will be going for his third straight win and this is the far better option than the Blue Jackets'. Blackwood has the potential to suddenly get hot and stop every puck he sees, and it's starting to feel like he's back in a groove with only five goals allowed on 65 shots (.923 SP) in his past two games.
The issue is the Kraken are quite a strong team on the road and will likely start Joey Daccord, who has been fantastic all season. There's upset potential here, and if you're in need of a start, Blackwood's a risky but okay option. It's early enough in an extended Week 17 to recover should things go awry.
Elvis Merzlikins, CLB at STL (22% rostered)
Merzlikins likely gets the start after Daniil Tarasov lost against the Kraken. Truth be told, neither are good options against the Blues. Merzlikins has lost three straight games with 13 goals allowed, and the two teams are trending in very opposite directions. He also has a career .849 SP and a 3.97 GAA against the Blues, so no matter how you slice it, there's jus too many ways for this matchup to go wrong.
