Alex Lyon, DET vs. CHI (22% rostered)

The Wings are playing the second half of a back-to-back after losing a hard-fought 3-2 game to the Rangers on Wednesday night, but this is a great matchup for Lyon. If he starts, it’ll be his fourth start in six games as he tries to wrestle the net away from Ville Husso, who made 38 saves against the Rangers. The Blackhawks have won two of their past three, including their most recent game against the Kraken but have also failed to win consecutive games all season.

Editors note: It looks like James Reimer will get the start in the Wings' three-goalie rotation. He's a viable streaming option in this matchup though he's stumbled a bit with four straight losses and 12 goals allowed during that span.

Pyotr Kochetkov, CAR vs. NYI (42% rostered)

This could be Kochetkov’s third straight start after allowing three goals in his past two games – both wins. His overall save percentage doesn’t look great because the Canes allow so few shots, though his 2.65 GAA is pretty good. The Isles don’t have a lot of scoring talent, averaging the third-lowest goals per game in the league, but also don’t defend particularly well, meaning the Canes have a chance to provide Kochetkov with plenty of goal support. Kochetkov is worth streaming and holding the rest of the season seeing how he’s outplayed Antti Raanta recently. Another week and Kochetkov might be rostered in over half of Yahoo leagues.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, BUF at STL (37% rostered)

With Devon Levi in AHL Rochester, Luukkonen is the Sabres’ starter going forward (unless Eric Comrie outplays him). Luukkonen has been excellent lately and it’s a good time to ride the hot streak against a very inconsistent Blues squad. Luukkonen has won three straight with only five goals allowed, and the Sabres have utmost confidence in him, otherwise Levi would still be with the big club in a three-goalie rotation.

Joey Daccord, SEA at TOR (6% rostered)

There’s not much confidence in the Kraken right now though they are slightly better on the road (4-4-4) than at home (4-6-1). The Leafs escaped with a win against the Panthers after Evan Rodrigues’ shootout winner was called back on a double-tap on Tuesday, and I imagine they’ll come out with a better effort after nearly losing the game against a tired opponent. If Daccord does start, it might signal an equal timeshare with Philipp Grubauer, who lost to the Blackhawks, 4-3, upon his return from injury. If you’re looking for goaltending, Daccord’s worth a stash but I wouldn’t really recommend him in this matchup.

Editor's note: Grubauer will start against the Leafs.

Connor Ingram, ARI vs. COL (39% rostered)

The Coyotes knocked off the Lightning, 3-1, with Ingram making 30 saves but this is an even tougher challenge. The Avalanche are burying their opponents with seven wins in their past eight games, and as competitive as the Yotes have been, this is a really tough test. I like Ingram’s longer term fantasy value but definitely not this matchup.

Mackenzie Blackwood, SJ at BOS (11% rostered)

The Sharks are technically on a roll with two straight wins and Blackwood just stopped 33 shots in a 2-1 win against the Caps, but streaming Blackwood would be only for the brave and the bold. The Sharks are major underdogs and you’re hoping for a ton of saves, a good save percentage, and the slightest chance of a win.

Cayden Primeau, MTL vs. FLA (1% rostered)

The Habs are on a bit of a roll with three wins in four games but playing the second half of a back-to-back after defeating the Jackets in Columbus on Tuesday. Primeau’s season numbers have not been very good, and he’s also clearly the third option behind Sam Montembeault and Jake Allen. While the Panthers are playing their third game in four nights, they’ve been excellent so far. There is some upset potential – both teams tired but Habs at home – there’s little confidence with Primeau in net.
