( < 50% rostered in Yahoo leagues, ranked by matchup)
(NEW) Anthony Stolarz, FLA at STL (16% rostered)
This will be Stolarz's first start since Dec. 30, giving Sergei Bobrovsky a break. This is a good matchup; the Panthers are going for their eighth straight win and their offense has been humming. The Blues don't have the forwards to match, nor do they have the goaltending most nights. Stolarz is a top streaming option for Tuesday.
Casey DeSmithCasey DeSmith, VAN at NYI (15% rostered)
The Canucks offense is a wagon, and that's DeSmith's saving grace in this matchup. The Isles are no longer the defense stalwarts they once were, and now rely on scoring to win games. That's not good for DeSmith, but he'll likely get enough goal support to have a chance at winning.
This is the second half of a back-to-back for the Canucks while the Isles are coming off a two-day break. I imagine while a win is probable, DeSmith's save percentage won't be pretty.
Lukas Dostal, ANA at NSH (8% rostered)
With John Gibson's status questionable due to illness, look for Dostal to start his second straight game. While Dostal has generally been serviceable, the Preds have historically dominated this matchup, winning six of their seven matchups since 2021. I'm wary of the Preds' excellent top line and the Ducks traded one of their top-four defenseman in Jamie Drysdale on Monday. I think the Preds are favored and you're hoping for a lot of saves and a good save percentage from Dostal.
(NEW) Joel Hofer, STL vs. FLA (8% rostered)
The Panthers are at the final stop of their four-game road trip but this is not an ideal matchup for Hofer and the Blues. Usually, the home team will have the advantage against a road team at their last stop of a lengthy trip, but the Panthers have had two days' rest and they're on a roll with seven straight wins. Hofer has been good, but not good enough to challenge Jordan Binnington for the starting job and faces a top-tier offense. Pass.
Daniil Tarasov, CLB at WPG (3% rostered)
I've kinda given up on trying to figure out the Jackets' goalie rotation, but odds are it's either Tarasov or Elvis Merzlikins. In either case, the Jets should be heavily favored. They have great goaltending and a balanced lineup, two things the Jackets certainly do not have.
I find the potential for an upset extremely slim, even though Tarasov has been very good lately, including two 40-plus save performances.
Kaapo Kahkonen, SJ at TOR (4% rostered)
Hard pass. This is another revenge game for Martin Jones and the Sharks just don't have the talent at any position to compete against the Leafs. The Sharks' losing streak has reached 11 games.
Arvid Soderblom, CHI vs. EDM (2% rostered)
The Oilers offense is arguably the most terrifying in the league, and when the Hawks are counting on Jason Dickinson for goal support, that's not a good thing. The Hawks may go with Petr Mrazek after he won against the Flames in their previous game, but neither option is ideal.
Editor's note: Mrazek will get the start and get a chance to extend his individual winning streak to two. Still not ideal against one of the best offensive teams in the league.
