(ranked by matchup)
Artūrs Šilovs, VAN at ARI (13% rostered)
Šilovs was pretty solid in his season debut, stopping 20 of 22 shots against the Ducks. This is the second game of a back-to-back for the Canucks, so that's definitely the danger here since they've looked a little out of sync lately. The Coyotes have a sneaky-good offense, and the Canucks' defense, while much-improved, remains one of their biggest weaknesses.
Šilovs is a sneaky play due to his inexperience, but keep in mind he's one of the most touted young goalies in the league. Though a sixth-round pick, Šilovs backstopped Latvia to a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships where he was named MVP of the tournament. It was the first medal of any color for Latvia at the Worlds, and the following day was declared a national holiday.
Joey Daccord, SEA at LA (51% rostered)
Daccord draws the short end of the stick this week since Philipp Grubauer is slated to grab the easy matchups. The Kraken do have some momentum coming in, though; Shane Wright looks pretty good and the Kings have lost three straight and will likely not have Phillip Danault in the lineup.
Daccord is probably a safe option for a good save percentage, which has been his forte all season. The Kings generally don't score much so, hopefully, you get a low-scoring game with the outcome a coin flip's decision.
Editor's note: Interesting the Kraken break away from their rotation and will start Grubauer instead. This means Daccord likely starts Friday against the Ducks.
Connor Ingram, ARI vs. VAN (45% rostered)
Certainly, the Coyotes have the potential to upset. They've got a pretty good offense facing an inexperienced goalie and a potentially tired team, but the only way they've been able to beat teams is to turn the matchup into a track meet. That's not ideal in fantasy, where a high goals against and low save percentage are tough to recover from, especially now that we're in the middle of the week. I wouldn't really advise Ingram as a streaming option in this spot.
Calvin Pickard, EDM at DAL (17% rostered)
A bit of a surprise, but Pickard gets his second start in three games following a 3-2 loss to the Blues with Stuart Skinner in net. This is a tough test for Pickard, though he always has the benefit of having an elite offense providing goal support.
The problem is the Stars' offense is also very good, and this could be a high-scoring game. The majority of the opponents Pickard has faced this season have been subpar -- he most recently faced the Habs, Pens, Jackets -- though he did beat the Stars in Dallas on Feb. 17 and allowed three goals on 27 shots (.889 SP). If you want the win, Pickard has a chance to do that. If you want saves and a good save percentage, I'd rather look elsewhere.
Joseph Woll, TOR vs. TB (49% rostered)
Despite winning two straight, the Leafs will give Ilya Samsonov an extended break -- the Leafs don't play again until Saturday -- by giving Woll the net tonight. Samsonov wasn't particularly sharp in the third period against the Panthers, and this is a chance to keep Woll engaged.
I think Woll is generally quite solid but the Lightning have been one of the league's best teams in the second half of the season. This is a really stiff test for the Leafs, and it's going to be a grind. There's a potential for a high-scoring game, which is why I wouldn't recommend Woll in this spot if you're looking for a win or a good save percentage.
Kaapo Kähkönen, NJ at NYR (5% rostered)
A late collapse against the Pens on Tuesday night does not bode well in this matchup. The Devils are playing the second game of a back-to-back, and even though Kähkönen was very strong in a 36-save shutout win against the Isles, Kähkönen is still a huge risk, especially against such a strong team.
I don't think the Devils can really grind out a low-scoring game, which means the Devils offense has to provide enough goal support to overcome Kähkönen's potential implosion in net. I think Kähkönen's a risky play, and most likely not worth streaming.
