With a back-to-back Pickard may get this start, leaving Stuart Skinner to face a much tougher Avs squad. Pickard has won two straight games but with thanks to the Oilers defense that allowed just 40 total shots. With the Wild missing half their defense and Kirill Kaprizov, this looks like a very good matchup for Pickard. Since Dec. 1, the Oilers have secured the most points in the league with the second-best points percentage, trailing only the Golden Knights.
I like Pickard's odds of winning this game, and FanDuel's odds on NHL.com also favor the Oilers. However, because Pickard may face relatively few shots and rarely is he perfect, I don't expect a high number of saves or a good save percentage.
