On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Aaron Ekblad, FLA vs. DET (55% rostered) - FanDuel $4,300
The good thing about Ekblad is he plays a ton of minutes and does a little bit of everything, like a jack of all trades but master of none. It's worth noting, however, that Ekblad notched two assists in two of his past four games, and remains the top option while Seth Jones is out. Ekblad is stronger as a DFS play than in traditional leagues due to his relatively low salary cost and high floor.
Bowen Byram, BUF vs. SJ (44% rostered) - FanDuel $4,600
The Sharks don’t defend particularly well, which is a good matchup for a roving defenseman such as Byram. He notched three assists and seven shots against the Lightning, and the increased shooting volume is what makes Byram a good streaming option. He’s firing pucks at a career-high rate, and if this keeps up, he’ll be worth rostering the rest of the season.
K’Andre Miller, CAR vs. PIT (16% rostered) - FanDuel $4,300
Miller remains undervalued despite a three-game points streak and playing increased minutes in Shayne Gostisbehere’s absence. Alexander Nikishin may have scored a goal and taken his spot on the power play, but his overall production and minutes still pales in comparison to Miller.
Zayne Parekh, CGY at NYR (15% rostered) - FanDuel $3,400
At least Parekh's ice time is trending up. Though he has just two assists in 19 games this season, the Flames rookie is poised to skate significant minutes for the rest of the season. He still doesn't shoot the puck very often and the Flames power play isn't setting the league on fire, but the increased minutes does at least present some opportunity for Parekh.
