On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Neal Pionk, WPG vs. VGK (41% rostered) - FanDuel $4,000
Potentially great matchup against a Knights team that just can’t quite put anything together this season. Pionk is the clear No. 2 behind Josh Morrissey, but he’s a very good second option with potential for shots, hits and blocks with the occasional point. With the Knights goaltending being the way it is – mediocre, that is – the Jets offense might have some more pop than usual.
Travis Sanheim, PHI vs. CBJ (30% rostered) - FanDuel $4,600
Tough matchup considering the Jackets’ recent hot streak and their solid goaltending, but the bet is Sanheim’s hot streak continues. He’s on a three-game points streak and scored five points in his past six games, and in DFS games provides some extra value with blocks.
K’Andre Miller, CAR at MTL (25% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
Miller is a favorite in this column because of his broad category coverage significant usage. He’s not particularly reliable on offense due to his lack of power play TOI, but he regularly plays over 22 minutes per game. Miller’s registered three points, six shots, eight blocks, 11 hits in his past five games.
Cole Hutson, WSH at STL (10% rostered) - FanDuel $4,200
Not a bad way to begin an NHL career with two points in three games, and Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a boon for Hutson as well. Though Hutson is playing sheltered minutes, both of his points have come on the power play, and the Blues PK ranks 28th in the league.
