On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Ivan Demidov, RW, MTL at NYR (59% rostered) – FanDuel $5,200
Demidov can be a dice roll because his ice time can range from 12 minutes to 20 minutes, but note he’s on a three-game points streak and up to 60 points in 74 games this season. He doesn’t get a lot of shots on net but the Habs have been very efficient and effective on offense during their six-game winning streak.
Anthony Mantha, LW/RW, PIT at TB (39% rostered) – FanDuel $5,400
Mantha hit the 30-goal milestone for the first time in his career amidst a three-game goals streak. The Pens are not having any trouble scoring goals, and note the Lightning matchup is a tad easier with Brandon Hagel not expected to play, and Victor Hedman still out of the lineup due to personal reasons. Mantha plays L2 with Evgeni Malkin and PP1 with the rest of the Pens’ star players.
Connor McMichael, C/LW, WSH at NJ (10% rostered) – FanDuel $4,900
McMichael’s on a three-game points streak, and with a point in five of his past seven games, he’s finishing on a strong note. He’s seen an uptick in minutes, playing at least 18 minutes in three of his past five games, and gets the plum assignment on L1 with Alex Ovechkin, and PP2 with Dylan Strome and Cole Hutson. The Devils’ goaltending has been poor for most of the season, and recently allowed four goals against a Rangers team that can’t score.
Mackie Samoskevich, RW, FLA vs. BOS (2% rostered) – FanDuel $4,200
That’s now a goal in two straight games for Samoskevich, whose ice time hasn’t increased as much as expected despite a depleted lineup. Nonetheless, he’s getting good deployment playing L2 with Eetu Luostarinen and PP1 with Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe.
