On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Anthony Cirelli, C, TB vs. CAR (34% rostered) - FanDuel $5,600
Cirelli has five assists in his past four games, another scoring binge in what has been a feast-or-famine season offensively for him. Despite good overall production with 40 points in 56 games, these are the times when Cirelli is really worth streaming because he can provide points along with his usual plethora of face-off wins. The Canes don’t allow a lot of shots but their goalies certainly stop very few of them lately.
Alexis Lafreniere, LW/RW, NYR at MIN (18% rostered) - FanDuel $5,000
Gabe Perreault, RW, NYR at MIN (1% rostered) - FanDuel $4,200
Lafreniere and Perreault are linemates so there’s a line stack option here, though it is a pretty tough matchup. Both players are on points streaks with Lafreniere capturing more of the attention with a hat-trick performance against the Flames. He’s scored six goals in his past five games while Perreault is on a three-game points streak.
Ryan Leonard, RW, WSH vs. BOS (10% rostered) - FanDuel $4,400
Leonard doesn’t get to play a ton but he’s making the most out of it with four goals in his past five games while averaging 14 minutes per game. Though the Caps were sellers at the deadline, we haven’t seen an uptick in ice time among their young players as they lay the foundations in the post-Oveckin era. Leonard is a big part of that young core, and presents some power play upside with PP2, and occasionally pops up on PP1.
Bo Groulx, C, TOR at BUF (0% rostered) - FanDuel $3,500
Auston Matthews’ injury presents an opportunity for Groulx to move up the lineup and potentially play more minutes after he played 17:41 against the Ducks and scored his first goal of the season. A big, physical center who can win draws, hit and score points, Groulx is a sneaky streamer for multi-category leagues.
