On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Ben Kindel, C, PIT vs. PHI (7% rostered) - FanDuel $5,400
With Evgeni Malkin suspended for five games and Sidney Crosby’s status questionable for this game, the Pens may have to rely even more on Kindel than usual. His line with Anthony Mantha Justin Brazeau has been pretty effective all season, and Kindel comes into this matchup with three points in his past three games.
Sean Monahan, C, CBJ vs. UTA (22% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
Charlie Coyle is not expected to play, which gives Monahan an opportunity to skate more minutes than usual. He admitted following the Olympic break that he needed time to recuperate from some injuries, and it looks like the extra rest did him good with three points in his past three games. The Mammoth aren’t nearly as strong on the road as they are at home, and the Jackets have won three straight and added top-six winger Conor Garland at the trade deadline.
Josh Norris, C, BUF vs. NSH (22% rostered) - FanDuel $5,600
Norris has three goals and five points in his past four games, giving him 22 points in 24 games this season. He gets overlooked because he gets injured so often, but he’s great when healthy and the Sabres are legitimately one of the league’s top teams. The Sabres have a lot of center depth and will have a distinct advantage especially if the Preds are without Ryan O’Reilly.
Pavel Zacha, C/LW, BOS vs. WSH (26% rostered) - FanDuel $5,100
The Caps were surprising sellers at the deadline, sending fan favorite and highly-regarded veteran John Carlson to the Ducks. They replaced him with Timothy Liljegren, which no doubt is a step down. Zacha carries a three-game points streak with four assists into this matchup and notched an assist against the Caps earlier this season.
Will Cuylle, LW/RW, NYR at NJ (39% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
Cuylle is coming off a two-goal, five-shot performance against the Leafs and will have veteran center Vincent Trocheck by his side once again after the Rangers decided to retain Trocheck at the trade deadline. This is key for Cuylle’s fantasy value because this gives him a quality top-six center to play with at both even strength and on the power play.
