With Brock Boeser potentially returning, the Canucks will likely stick with their new-found top line of Elias Pettersson between NHL hits leader Kiefer Sherwood and Jake DeBrusk, who returns to Boston for the first time.
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Forwards
Logan Cooley, UTA at MON (42% rostered)
Utah's been mixing up the lines but for the first time all season, I feel Cooley's game has been consistently better. He's registered at least three shots in six of his past eight games and scored two points in consecutive games. Playing PP1 obviously helps, and not linemate Dylan Guenther is scoring again, too.
Jake DeBruskKiefer Sherwood, LW/RW, VAN at BOS (41% rostered)
Jake DeBrusk, LW, VAN at BOS (38% rostered)
I wrote more at length about Sherwood and DeBrusk in the Week 8 Primer, but essentially you're getting two very good multi-category players with Elias Pettersson's excellent play making a huge difference.
Sherwood's a goal-scoring and hitting machine right now, while DeBrusk's in line for a revenge game with a hot hand. Even with Brock Boeser returning, the Canucks are not expected to break up their top line. Both Sherwood and DeBrusk have played PP1, Both have fantasy value beyond just this game.
Kirby Dach, C/RW, MON vs. UTA (5% rostered)
Alex Newhook, C, MON vs. UTA (1% rostered)
The Habs are having trouble scoring and expected starter Karel Vejmelka has played very well for Utah recently, so perhaps this matchup is one to avoid. However, if the Habs are to break out offensively, it could be Dach and Newhook.
Newhook is skating L1, replacing Juraj Slafkovsky, who's on L2 with Dach. Dach has a little more value because he's playing PP1, and overall he's been the better player. Both are weak bets at best, though, but with only two games on Tuesday, quality options are few.
