Jason Chen and Michael Amato make their sleeper and keeper picks for Week 5.
The Sleepers and Keepers fantasy hockey podcast hosts Jason Chen and Michael Amato make their weekly picks for the sleeper and keeper of the week.
Michael is going with Coyotes center Nick Bjugstad for his sleeper and Canucks left winger Ilya Mikheyev as his keeper.
Bjugstad has formed a dynamite line with Matias Maccelli and Lawson Crouse, all of whom are currently on point streaks. The Coyotes offense ranks 13th in the league in GF/GP and 10th on the power play.
Mikheyev has played at almost a point-per-game pace as the third wheel on a line with the league's leading scorer, Elias Pettersson, and fellow countryman Andrei Kuzmenko. While Mikheyev isn't known for his scoring, playing with elite offensive players has certainly raised his fantasy ceiling.
Jason picks Wild prospect Marco Rossi as his sleeper and a rejuvenated Sean Monahan on the Habs as his keeper.
Rossi was recently promoted to the top line and PP1, flanked by Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy, and averaging over 19 minutes per game. After a slow start, Rossi's been a scoring machine and leapt ahead of Joel Eriksson Ek and Ryan Hartman on the depth chart.
Monahan has been one of the biggest surprises this season with stats comparable to captain Nick Suzuki. Hampered by injuries in the past, Monahan is healthy and showing shades of his days as the Flames' top center.
