Trailing by two late in the third, Florida relied on the Tkachuk brothers' chemistry to stun the Canucks, fueling an overtime victory behind Brady’s historic scoring explosion.

Brady Tkachuk put on a heck of a show for the Florida Panthers faithful on Thursday night in Sunrise.

With Florida down by a pair of goal and less than 10 minutes on the clock, Tkachuk led the Comeback Cats on a furious late-game charge, logging his second consecutive hat trick and helping Florida to a 3-2 overtime victory.

Despite the Panthers playing a very strong first period, a couple unfortunate plays ended with the puck in the back of Florida’s net.

Goals by Liam Ohgren and Elias Pettersson sent Vancouver into the first intermission with a 2-0 lead despite being outshot 15-7 during the game’s first 20 minutes.

That’s how the score would remain until the final frame, when one of the newest Panthers players continued on a recent string of scoring goals.

We’re talking, of course, about the aforementioned Brady Tkachuk.

Fresh off a hat trick and four-point night on Tuesday in Columbus, the younger Tkachuk brother one-timed a cross-ice pass from Aaron Ekblad from the top of the right circle, catching Canucks goaltender Leevi Merilainen by surprise.

The goal, which was also assisted by Brady’s older brother Matthew, cut Vancouver’s lead in half at the 11:11 mark of the third period.

It was Brady’s fourth goal with the Panthers, all of which have been assisted on by his brother.

Speaking of Matthew, that assist extended his point streak to seven games, a stretch during which he’s racked up three goals and 10 points.

Getting back to the game, fast forward to the final minute of the period, when Brady unleashed another one-timer that caught the Canucks, and their goalie, off guard.

Tkachuk’s laser of a slapshot flew past Merilainen’s blocker, off the far post and into the back of the net with just 11.8 seconds to go.

He wasn’t done there.

About halfway through the ensuing overtime session, Brady took a pass from Seth Jones while moving into Ottawa’s zone and pulled of a gorgeous toe drag, changing the angle on his shot, and flicking a wrist shot into the far side of the net, sending 18.900 fans inside Amerant Bank Arena into a frenzy.

It’s been quite a turnaround for Brady.

After starting the season with no points through five games, he’s exploded for six goals and eight points in the three games he’s played this week.

Brady is also just the third Panthers player to record back-to-back hat tricks, following in the footsteps of Noel Acciari in December of 2019 and Pavel Bure in February of 2001.

Interestingly, each and every one of those six hat tricks were natural. There were no empty net goals involved.

Looking ahead, Brady and the Cats will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Seattle Kraken.

Florida will be searching for a third straight victory, facing a surprising Seattle squad that will arrive in Sunrise with a strong 5-2-1 record following an overtime loss in Tampa Bay on Thursday.

We’ll see if the Panthers, and the Tkachuk brothers, can keep the good times rolling on a Sunrise Saturday night.
