Florida Panthers announce new streaming service for locally produced games
The Panthers have partnered with ViewLift to bring locally produced games to fans on digital platforms
The Florida Panthers sure picked a good time to increase their viewership.
Enjoying the best stretch of success in team history, leading up to last season’s amazing Stanley Cup victory, the team is making itself available to more fans than ever before.
On Tuesday, the Panthers announced a new partnership with digital content distribution platform ViewLift to provide livestreams for all locally produced games.
ViewLift has already been trusted by NHL teams to provide streaming services, including previous Stanley Cup Champions Vegas Golen Knights and Washington Capitals.
Earlier this year, Florida made the switch off of cable television to local TV, partnering with Scripps Sports to bring Cats games to fans for free on WSFL in South Florida, WHDT in West Palm Beach and on a yet-to-be-announced station in Fort Myers.
The new streaming service is expected to launch in time for the upcoming hockey season.
“We are thrilled to partner with ViewLift in order to offer our fans a premier streaming experience,” said Panthers Chief Strategy Officer Mark Zarthar in a statement released by the team. “Our goal is to increase accessibility and ensure that all Panthers fans have access anytime and anywhere to view our games and with Scripps Sports’ and ViewLift’s expertise we’re confident our new distribution will do just that.”
According to the Panthers, the new streaming service will offer live games in addition to on-demand content with the goal of enhancing the overall experience for fans and viewers.
More information will be made available in the time ahead of the season regarding how fans will be able to access the new service.
Overall, this is great news for Panthers fans in the South Florida viewing region, who won’t have to pay a penny to watch the Cats at home or on the go.
