The Panthers begin their defense of the Stanley Cup on Oct. 8 against Boston

Panthers forward Sam Bennett speaks after Florida won the Stanley Cup.

Despite last season still being extremely close when looking in the rearview mirror, the time to look ahead to 2024-25 is upon us.

Over the past few days we’ve seen the NHL Draft take place and the start of free agency begin, so it’s only natural for the next step to be the new schedule for everyone to look forward to.

We learned on Monday that the Florida Panthers will open the season at Amerant Bank Arena on Oct. 8 against the Boston Bruins, a night that should be extremely special as the Panthers raise their first Stanley Cup Championship banner to the rafters.

On Tuesday, the NHL released the full 24-25 schedule.

You can check out the Panthers 82-game schedule below (all times local):

Here are some of the highlights:

  • 15 Saturday home games
  • Nov. 1-2: Panthers face Dallas in Tampere, Finland
  • Consecutive home games against same team, New Jersey: Nov. 12/14
  • Nine of the first 13 games of the season are on the road, followed by a five-game homestand (technically one of the Tampere games is a home game, but they're still in Finland).
  • Florida has five road trips that last four or more games
  • The December travel schedule makes no sense, but Florida should be getting used to it by now. Coming home for one game between road trips?
  • Stanley Cup Final rematch games on Dec. 16 at Edmonton and Feb. 27 in Sunrise
  • The first game for the Panthers in Salt Lake City will come on Jan. 8
  • Thirteen sets of back-to-back games

As for player returns to Sunrise:

Nov. 27, Toronto: Oilver Ekman-Larsson and Anthony Stolarz

Feb. 22, Seattle: Brandon Montour

March 1, Calgary: Ryan Lomberg

March 28, Utah: Kevin Stenlund
