Fresh paint hits the Sunrise ice as the Panthers swap the Stanley Cup look for a bold, striped design ahead of their preseason clash against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Hockey season is official back in South Florida.
The Florida Panthers officially kicked off their 2026 training camp on Thursday at the team’s practice facility in Fort Lauderdale.
On Sunday, the Panthers will play their first of four preseason games when they host the Carolina Hurricanes at Amerant Bank Arena.
We’re now getting our first look at how Florida’s center ice logo will be painted for the 2026-27 season.
Over the past two years, the Panthers’ logo has featured the inner bowl of the Stanley Cup, signifying the team’s back-to-back championships in 2024 and 2025.
Now that they’re not the NHL’s defending champs anymore, it’s no longer appropriate to use the league’s historic trophy as part of Florida’s home ice logo.
Florida decision makers did not want to go back to a traditional-looking paint job at center ice, though.
Instead, the Panthers elected to fill the complete circle again, but this time they used Florida’s primary Panthers-head logo and a very cool looking red background with blue horizontal stripes.
The Panthers posted a photo of how the ice looks with its fresh paint job, and the new center ice logo absolutely pops.
