Former Florida Panthers director of player personnel Bryan McCabe will join Sunny Mehta with the New Jersey Devils as vice president of prospect personnel and assistant GM of their AHL affiliate.
Former Florida Panthers assistant GM Sunny Mehta continues to pluck front-office members from the organization, most recently adding Bryan McCabe, according to ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
McCabe worked with the Panthers for 14 seasons, beginning in 2012-13. He began his Panthers tenure as a development coach before becoming the director of player personnel just one year later.
He would hold that role through the 2025-26 season.
Now joining the New Jersey Devils, McCabe will serve as vice president of prospect personnel and assistant GM of the Utica Comets, the Devils' AHL affiliate. McCabe has vast experience in player personnel and is an NHL veteran of 1,135 games. Of those 1,135 games, 199 of them came with the Panthers.
McCabe is the third executive Mehta has plucked from the Panthers, bringing Braden Birch as an assistant GM and Leo Luongo as director of goaltending.
Mehta has surrounded himself with executives he knows well, giving them expanded roles.
In addition to McCabe, the Devils have added Jessica Campbell to their staff as a manager of player development. Campbell recently worked with the Seattle Kraken as an assistant coach for two seasons and as an assistant coach for their AHL affiliate for an additional two seasons.
