Florida and Edmonton have done well to maintain their spots atop the league, according to NHL.com
It’s been a busy couple of weeks since the Florida Panthers became Stanley Cup Champions.
We’ve had A LOT of celebrating across South Florida with the Stanley Cup, the NHL Awards and NHL Draft in Las Vegas, a Stanley Cup Championship parade along Fort Lauderdale Beach and NHL free agency, all in the span of a fortnight.
Now, as the Panthers hold their annual development camp at the team’s new practice facility in Fort Lauderdale, the hockey minds at NHL.com are also looking toward the future.

On Monday, the first Super 16 power rankings were released.
The offseason rankings take into account all the moves made, to this point, by each of the 32 NHL teams.
Interestingly, though perhaps not surprisingly, the top two teams are the same teams that took last month’s Stanley Cup Final to a seventh game.
The Panthers remain the team to beat, but Edmonton is right there with them.
