The Florida Panthers have recalled winger Noah Gregor from the AHL ahead of their matchup against the Seattle Kraken.
The Panthers announced several injury updates on Monday and, as a result, needed to make a corresponding move. With Aleksander Barkov, Jonah Gadjovich, Brad Marchand, Sam Reinhart, Anton Lundell, and Mackie Samoskevich all injured, as well as A.J. Greer suspended, the Panthers did not have enough forwards to ice a lineup.
Their move was to recall Gregor, a 27-year-old winger who had played 24 games with the Panthers before he was sent down. During his time up in the NHL, Gregor scored one goal and three points. In the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers, Gregor produced 11 goals and 17 points in 25 games.
The Beaumont, Alta., native last played in the NHL this season on Jan. 8 against the Montreal Canadiens. His return will see him skate alongside Luke Kunin and Nolan Foote on the fourth line.
Both Lundell and Reinhart weren’t ruled out for tonight’s contest yesterday, but they haven’t been practicing, and their absence was expected.
Coach Paul Maurice provided updates on Lundell and Reinhart yesterday, noting that Lundell is day-to-day and being evaluated. They are currently trying to minimize the ailment he’s dealing with.
As for Reinhart, he missed the entire four-game road trip and continues to undergo tests to better understand his injury.
Here are tonight’s projected Panthers lines, according to Jameson Olive:
Luostarinen – Rodrigues – Boqvist
Verhaeghe – Bennett – Tkachuk
Reinhardt – Nosek – Hinostroza
Foote – Kunin – Gregor
Forsling – Ekblad
Kulikov – Jones
Sebrango – Benning
Bobrovsky
Tarasov
