The latest episode of The Hockey Show has dropped!

On this week’s show, hosts Roy Bellamy and David Dwork first dive into the latest happenings around the Florida Panthers.

Florida clinched a playoff spot on Thursday despite surrendering another third period lead and suffering their sixth loss over their past seven games.

While the Panthers still have some things to work out ahead of the playoffs, which begin in a few short weeks, there is still some appreciation for how far the franchise has come.

Reaching the playoffs in five straight seasons is an impressive feat, especially when looking at the history of the franchise and how few and far between Florida’s postseason appearances became.

Roy and Dave also welcome Patrick Williams to the show. He covers the American Hockey League for NHL.com.

Patrick spoke about which AHL players could make an impact at the NHL level in the near future, which teams to watch out for during the upcoming Calder Cup Playoffs, how AHL rosters work and the way finance plays a big part in the success of franchises.

He was also asked about the red-hot Charlotte Checkers, Florida's AHL affiliate, and the play of prospect goaltender Spencer Knight.

Knight has won nine of his past 10 starts and has shutouts in three of his past four games, including two in a row.
