Both Florida players said they enjoyed the experience of the All-Star Game taking place in hockey-centric Toronto
A pair of Florida Panthers represented the team over the past several days at NHL All-Star Weekend in Toronto.
Both Sam Reinhart and Sergei Bobrovsky earned their spots on the All-Star team with stellar first halves of the season.
They certainly appeared to have a great time in the hockey capital of the world while taking in everything that the weekend had to offer.
“We’re in Toronto and it’s an All-Star Game, what more can you ask for,” said Reinhart. “It's quite a production, it's quite a show, and it's pretty cool to experience it.”

“It was great,” added Bobrovsky. “I enjoyed the atmosphere. I tried to savor every moment, to be around those superstars. It was quick, but it was so much fun.”
One of the things Bobrovsky said he was looking forward to about going to the All-Star game was getting the opportunity to chat with other goaltenders from around the league.
As he explained, it’s not always easy to be cordial with his fellow tendies when they’re only crossing paths in the heat of battle.
“It was cool to meet them in that light atmosphere, because usually you compete against them and you’re focused, but here, to share some quick, easy talks, it was a great experience,” Bobrovsky said.
While Bob had an idea of what to expect, having played in an All-Star game once before, this was all brand new to Reinhart.
The veteran playing in his tenth NHL season has been to Toronto many times, but never saw the city the way it’s been the past several days.
“I think just coming to Toronto lots over the years, and to see a different feel, you see all the All-Star Game everywhere, you just see the buzz around it, so it was cool to be a part of it and in the city,” Reinhart said.
Asked about the past year, one in which he’s gone to a Stanley Cup Final, gotten married, made his first All-Star team and is on track for the best hockey season of his adult life, Reinhart just smiled.
He’s taking everything in stride and soaking it in, but at the same time, his concentration remains on the task at hand.
“I've always kind of focused day by day,” he said. “Life is good right now, I can't complain. We're just we're just trying to ride it out and build off the successes of last year and learn from the failures. I like where we’re at.”
The entire All-Star experience was still very fresh in both players minds while speaking after the conclusion of Saturday’s final.
When asked what he enjoyed most, Reinhart went back to his friends and family, saying having so many of his loved ones around him all weekend was extremely special to him.
For Bobrovsky, he simply wanted to remain present and take everything in as it came.
“I try to be right here, right now in this moment and enjoy this moment and then not have any regrets that I wish I enjoyed more, I wish I did this,” he said. “I try to be as much as possible in the moment and enjoy the moment.”
Now that the All-Star festivities are officially over, Reinhart and Bobrovsky will travel back to South Florida and join a Panthers team that has been playing excellent hockey and racking up the points in the standings.
Both are eager to resume the season and get back to the goal of a repeat trip to the Stanley Cup Final, but this time with a happy ending.
“I haven't been home since our last road trip, so I am excited to get back,” Bobrovsky said with a smile.
