Similarly to last season, Bobrovsky is using the All-Star break to switch to a new set of goalie pads and gloves
By all indications, Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is having a great at the NHL All-Star Game in Toronto.
Bobrovsky was all smiles on media day, speaking to reporters about the honor of being selected and the excitement to participate and hang out with what he called the younger generation of superstar goalies.
In addition to his infectious grin and great attitude, Bobrovsky brought something else with him to Toronto.
When Bob took the ice at Scotiabank Arena on Friday, he was wearing new, all-white pads and gloves, and his helmet was a brand new, special All-Star themed mask.
As is the case with all of Bobrovsky’s helmets, this one was custom painted by well-known mask artist Dave Gunnarsson.

Gunnarsson also painted All-Star masks for Jeremy Swayman, Alexandar Georgiev, Cam Talbot, Igor Shesterkin and Jake Oettinger.
Another change in Bobrovsky’s attire came in the form of his goalie gear.
Last season Bob started the year with True L 20.2 all white leg pads and gloves, but he switched to set with a Panthers color theme.
When did he make the switch? During the NHL All-Star break.
It looks like he’s following a similar playbook again this year, trying out the new True HZRDUS line, but ditching the colored setup and going back to the clean, all white look.

Competing in the one-on-one shootout event of the Skills Competition, Bobrovsky went up against Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon.
Bob made eight saves, which tied him with Dallas netminder Jake Oettinger for second-most stops among the eight All-Star goaltenders.
Colorado's Alexandar Georgiev came up with nine saves on Oilers superstar Connor McDavid and took home the $100,000 goalie prize.
On Saturday, Bobrovsky and Panthers teammate Sam Reinhart will play for Team White, captained by McDavid, during the NHL All-Star Game 3-on-3 tournament.
