After having solid campaigns in the NCAA for Western Michigan University, brothers Hampton and Grant Slukynsky have been signed to entry-level contracts with the Los Angeles Kings and will join the AHL's Ontario Reign for the rest of this season.
The Los Angeles Kings have signed a pair of prospects, the team announced on Thursday. They inked the Slukynsky brothers, Hampton and Grant, to entry-level contracts, and they will be joining the AHL's Ontario Reign on a professional tryout (PTO).
Hampton Slukynsky, the younger brother and 20-year-old goaltender, was drafted by the Kings in the fourth round and 118th overall in the 2023 NHL draft.
Los Angeles signs him to his three-year entry-level deal following his season with the NCAA's Western Michigan University.
Hampton had a stellar campaign for the Broncos, recording a .915 save percentage and a 2.30 goals-against average in 39 games. With that, he posted a 27-11-1 record in what was his sophomore season at the college level.
Last year was also impressive for him as he registered a .922 SP and a 1.90 GAA across 25 appearances.
Before that, Hampton was the top goaltender for the Fargo Force in 2023-24. He posted a .922 SP and a 1.86 GAA in 33 USHL regular-season contests, followed by a .931 SP and 1.69 GAA in the post-season. He ultimately backstopped the Force to a Clark Cup as USHL champions that season.
As for the older brother, Grant, undrafted, he just wrapped up his junior campaign in the NCAA. His contract with Los Angeles is also entry-level, but just a one-year deal.
This past season was his second with Western Michigan, as he spent his freshman year with Northern Michigan University.
The 24-year-old finished above a point-per-game average with 10 goals and 40 points in 39 appearances, leading the team in scoring.
Before joining the NCAA in 2023-24, the right-handed center played four seasons in the USHL. His first two campaigns were with Fargo, where he struggled to score, and he joined the Sioux City Musketeers. He featured in two seasons with the Musketeers, helping the team earn a Clark Cup in 2021-22.

The Slukynsky brothers, both Minnesota natives, Clark Cup champions, and NCAA champions as teammates at Western Michigan, will continue to be teammates in the AHL with the Reign on a PTO for the remainder of this season.
They'll be involved in Ontario's quest for the Calder Cup, as the Reign currently lead the Pacific Division, and have had an excellent campaign up to this point. They have six regular-season outings remaining and have already earned an American League playoff berth.
