Tonight's player to watch for against the Nashville Predators is Matt Boldy.

ST. PAUL - Tonight's player to watch for against the Nashville Predators is Minnesota Wild forward Matt Boldy.

Boldy, 23, is in a bit of a rut right now. He has zero goals in his last seven games and two goals in his last 18 games. He has one goal in his last 11 games and has 25 shots in that span.

That is an average of just 2.27 shots a game. Wild head coach John Hynes was asked about Boldy's recent struggles after the Ottawa Senators game.

"Yeah, I think probably more of a shot mentality and get to the inside," Hynes said. "That’s what I would say."

The last time these two team met, Boldy did not score but he recorded five shots on goal. If he can get back to his shooting ways, Boldy should expect to get on the scoresheet and it could be tonight.

With Kirill Kaprizov out for his third straight game, Boldy and other Wild forwards need to step up. They lost on Sunday 3-1 without Kaprizov but won the game before against the Dallas Stars in Dallas.

Nonetheless, Boldy needs to step up in Kaprizov's absence and he could do just that tonight.
