There are still some former Minnesota Wild players who are looking for their next contracts.

NHL free agency started two weeks ago. Because of this, many of this year's top unrestricted free agents (UFAs) have signed their new contracts.

While this is the case, there are also some interesting UFAs left who have not signed new deals yet. This includes a handful of former Minnesota Wild players.

Vladimir Tarasenko, Cam Talbot, John Klingberg, and Carson Soucy are among the former Wild players who have not been signed at this stage in the off-season.

Tarasenko remains unsigned after having a nice bounce-back season with the Wild in 2025-26. In 75 games last season for Minnesota, he recorded 23 goals and 47 points. This was after the two-time Stanley Cup champion had just 11 goals and 33 points in 80 games for the Detroit Red Wings in 2024-25. Teams looking for scoring could consider taking a flier on him.

Talbot is still unsigned after a tough 2025-26 season with the Red Wings. In 34 games, he posted an .883 save percentage and a 3.19 goals-against average. However, the 39-year-old goalie had a .900 save percentage or better in five out of his previous six seasons, so the possibility of him finding a new NHL home should not be ruled out. In 82 games with Minnesota from 2020-21 to 2021-22, he had a 51-20-9 record, a .913 save percentage, and a 2.71 goals-against average.

Klingberg is arguably the top UFA defenseman still left. The 33-year-old blueliner had a solid year for the San Jose Sharks, posting 10 goals and 27 points in 56 games. Teams looking for more offense from the point could consider signing the veteran defenseman. In 17 games with the Wild during the 2022-23 season, he had two goals and nine points.

As for Soucy, he could grab the attention of teams looking for more size and depth on their blueline. The 6-foot-4 defenseman posted five goals, 12 points, and 105 hits in 76 games last season split between the New York Rangers and New York Islanders. In 108 games over three seasons with Minnesota, he recorded eight goals, 23 assists, 31 points, and 135 hits.
