October 10th marks the first game of the season for the Minnesota Wild which also is the home opener. Just 44 days away from Wild hockey. A few players in Wild history have worn number 44 and Nicolas Deslauriers was one of them.
Deslauriers, 33, played in only 20 NHL games for the Wild during the team's record-breaking 2021-22 season. He also played in five playoff games that season and recorded zero points, 13 hits, and was a minus-3.
In his 20 regular season games, Deslauriers recorded three goals, zero assists, and 53 hits. His 15.10 hits per 60 minutes lead the team that season, although it was a small sample size.
After being traded for at the 2022 deadline for third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, Deslauriers left for free agency where he signed a four-year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers worth $1,750,000 a season.
The 6-foot-1 forward has 51 goals, 50 assists, 101 points, and 2,030 hits in 646 career NHL games across 11 seasons. He has played for five teams in his career, his shortest tenure has been with the Wild.
