Photo: Matt Krohn-Imagn ImagesMinnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber has been getting some love from the national media recently after his performance for team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off.
On Saturday's ESPN broadcast panel, Faber received some high praise from PK Subban, Mark Messier, and Steve Levy.
"When you're playing at that level and the margin for error is so small, you have to be able to defend in all areas of the ice," Messier said. "It was so evident watching that last game that all these great players, we always talk about how great offensively they are and the skill level, Brock Faber was unbelievable defensively."
Levy followed it up. "When Faber takes the glasses off, he becomes Superman."
Faber, 22, ended up skating in 30:05 in the Wild's 4-3 overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. He logged over 30 minutes of ice time just 36 hours after logging 28:50 against Canada in the 4 Nations title game.
This kid is something special.
