When Minnesota signed Shaw on the 15th, Wild head coach John Hynes said they will take it day-by-day and let Shaw get some practices under his belt before he plays. But Shaw has yet to make his season debut for the Wild.

Hynes also hinted that it likely wouldn't be long before Shaw would enter the lineup because some forwards just haven't been good enough.

"Well, right now, I think that it'll be day by day," Hynes said on the 15th. "You know, I think that there are a couple of forwards that need to be better."

The forwards Hynes was calling out were likely Ryan Hartman, Freddy Gaudreau, and Marcus Johansson.

The Wild are 3-3-1 since they signed Shaw and brought him up to the Wild but have yet to play him. After back-to-back losses, one at home against the Carolina Hurricanes and one on the road last night against the Nashville Predators, it might be time to see what Shaw can do.

Hartman has six points since Hynes called out the struggling forwards, Johansson has three points, and Gaudreau has one point all in seven games.

Hynes also said on the 15th that he liked Marco Rossi's line with Jake Lucchini and Vinni Lettieri but last night Hynes broke up that line and moved Rossi to the second line with Johansson and Mats Zuccarello.

Gaudreau is now on the fourth line with Lettieri and Lucchini. Gaudreau has not looked like himself recently and maybe a game or two watching from a far could help. It also could help the 30-year-old, who had 19 goals and 38 points last year, take a break mentally and think the game a bit differently.

This would allow Shaw to enter the lineup which would be deserved.

If you don't make the switch before the game tomorrow and you lose to the St. Louis Blues, there shouldn't be a reason why Shaw can't enter the lineup by Sunday.
