Mason Shaw was on the ice today for the first time this season with the Wild.ST. PAUL - Just about ten and a half months removed from his fourth ACL tear in his career, Mason Shaw was on the ice today for the first time this season with the Wild.
He's been around the rink and skated a bit during rehab but after signing an NHL deal yesterday, Shaw was on the ice with the Wild today as a full participant.
He isn't expected to play tomorrow against the Buffalo Sabres but Shaw is ready to help the Wild whenever he gets the chance.
Shaw, 25, played nine games in the AHL this season with the Wild and was on a one-year AHL deal before signing an NHL deal yesterday. Shaw's presence was felt at the rink today and in the locker room.
During an interview with Shaw after practice, many Wild players walked by Shaw's stall and smiled. When practice ended, Shaw stayed on the ice and messed around with Connor Dewar and Brandon Duhaime whom he played most of the season on a line with last year.
Nonetheless, it's good for Shaw to be back as all the players enjoy his company. It shouldn't be long before Shaw makes his season debut.
