The Minnesota Wild's development camp will take place at Tria Rink in St. Paul Friday through Sunday, July 7-9, with Saturday's practice closed to the public. This year's roster features all six of the Wild's 2023 NHL Draft picks: Charlie Stramel, Rasmus Kumpulainen, Riley Heidt, Aaron Pionk, Kalem Parker and Jimmy Clark.

    Fast facts:

The most notable name on the roster is right-shot defensive prospect Brock Faber, who is expected to make the Wild's 2023-24 roster after making a strong first impression in April against the Dallas Stars in the playoffs.

The Wild invited 10 players to the camp, which includes four goalies: forwards Adam Zidlicky, Ryan McGuire, Louis Boudon, Casey Dornbach and Carson Latimer, defenseman Landon Kosior and goalies Harrison Meneghin, Henry Welsch, Chase Coward and Zach Stejskal.

Zidlicky is the son of former Wild defenseman Marek Zidlicky, who accumulated 123 points in 241 games over parts of four seasons in Minnesota from 2008-09 to 2011-12.

There are 10 Minnesota natives on the roster: Faber (Maple Grove), Stramel (Rosemount), Sam Hentges (Fridley), Jack Peart (Grand Rapids), Sammy Walker (Edina), Clark (Edina), Dornbach (Edina), Pionk (Hermantown), Welsch (Lakeville) and Stejskal (Cohasset).

The trio of young defenseman in Daemon Hunt, Ryan O' Rourke and Simon Johansson will be at development camp. All three made promising strides in their rookie year with the Iowa Wild. In fact, Minnesota Wild director of hockey operations and Iowa Wild GM Mike Murray noticed how well they transitioned last season.

“It’s been great to see how they’ve evolved and adapted to the professional game,”  Murray told me in an exclusive interview in March, adding that while Johansson played professionally in Europe beforehand, it marked his first pro season in North America. … “[It’s] exciting as an organization for them to make that next progression in their development and their careers and within the Minnesota Wild organization.”

Attending camp is Danila Yurov, Faber, Liam Ohgren, Carson Lambos, David Spacek, Peart, Hunt, Caedan Bankier, Servac Petrovsky, O' Rourke and Hunter Haight, all of whom we ranked among the Wild's top 15 prospects prior to the 2023 NHL Draft. Here's part one, two and three of our series at the beginning of June.
