Newly acquired forward Luke Toporowski made Wild history the other night. Born in Bettendorf, Iowa, Toporowski became the first Iowa-born player to score a goal for the Iowa Wild.

The Iowa Wild are the Minnesota Wild's American Hockey League affiliate.

Toporowski, 22, played in 96 career games for the Providence Bruins in the AHL and recorded 22 goals and 46 points across two seasons. He was traded from the Bruins to the Wild in the Pat Maroon deal.

In his Iowa Wild debut, Toporowski picked up an assist. He got his first goal with his new team the next day. In three games for Iowa, the 5-foot-11 forward has one goal and three points. The Iowa native has fit in nicely with his new team.
