Stunned fans face a July 1 deadline after Minnesota bypassed a $4 million qualifying offer for the productive winger, sparking a race to re-sign the hometown talent.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - In what was an initial shock, the Minnesota Wild announced qualifying and non-qualifying offers to its current restricted free agents.

Among the players, one of them stood out as a surprise.

Forward Bobby Brink was not qualified by the Wild, which makes him a free agent on July 1.

Brink, 24, was dealt from the Philadelphia Flyers to Minnesota at the 2026 trade deadline for David Jiricek.

The Minnesota native posted 15 goals, 30 points, 104 shots and 80 hits between the two teams in 2025-26. He had one assist in four playoff games as well.

In 214 career games, Brink has 38 goals, 60 assists and 98 points.

His qualifying offer was close to $4 million. This is why the Wild did not qualify him. This also does not mean he is gone.

Minnesota can work on signing him today before he hits the free agent market. All signs point to the Wild making that happen.
