A week ago we wrote about a target in free agency the Minnesota Wild could look at. Brock Nelson will not make it to free agency, so you can take that free agent off the Wild's board.
Nelson, 33, signed a three-year contract worth $7.5 million Average Annual Salary with the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche traded a haul for him at the deadline so it makes sense they would want to keep him.
After the trade, Nelson had six goals and 13 points in 19 regular season games for the Avalanche and had zero goals in seven playoff games.
