Boasting a staggering 39 percent shooting clip and nine goals in seven matchups, Minnesota’s superstar looks to exploit his favorite Original Six victim during Friday’s home opener.
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild will play its home opener Friday night against the Boston Bruins, and if history is any indication, Kirill Kaprizov is a player to keep a close eye on.
Kaprizov has had remarkable success against Boston throughout his NHL career. In seven games against the Bruins, the Wild superstar has recorded nine goals and 10 points.
Even more impressive is how efficiently Kaprizov has produced those goals. He has scored nine times on just 23 shots against Boston, good for a 39.1 percent shooting percentage.
Kaprizov has also scored two power-play goals against the Bruins and has one game-winning goal and one overtime winner.
The 29-year-old opened the season with a goal in Minnesota’s season opener against Nashville, continuing his streak of recording at least one point in every season-opening game of his NHL career.
Now, Kaprizov gets a matchup that has treated him exceptionally well.
Boston has plenty of offensive weapons of its own, but Kaprizov’s history against the Bruins makes him Minnesota’s player to watch as the Wild return to Grand Casino Arena for their home opener.
