ST. PAUL - Just under 24 hours after they acquired him, the Minnesota Wild have recalled defenseman David Jiricek from the American Hockey League (AHL).

Jiricek, 21, was acquired by the Wild on Saturday from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Daemon Hunt and four draft picks

The 6-foot-4 defender has one assist in six games with Columbus and three points in four games with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) this season.

With Jonas Brodin still out with an injury and Hunt traded in the deal, Jiricek was the Wild's most NHL ready defender from the Iowa Wild.

Minnesota host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday before going on a three-game road trip on Friday.
