
ST. PAUL - The Wild announced on Saturday that they have recalled goaltender Jesper Wallstedt from the AHL. In addition to this, the Iowa Wild signed goaltender Peyton Jones to a professional try-out.
Wallstedt, 21, is 21-19-3 this season for the Iowa Wild with a 2.76 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage in 43 games with two shutouts.
The plan for Wallstedt is to play a few games for the Wild as they wrap up their season. The 6-foot-3 goaltender played in one NHL game this year against the Dallas Stars. He let up seven goals in the loss and has a .794 save percentage.
Drafted as the 20th overall pick in 2021 draft, Wallstedt has played two seasons in the AHL and has posted a 39-34-8 record with a 2.72 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. He has three shutouts in 81 career AHL games.
Peyton Jones is 12-71-1 in 32 games in the ECHL with the Iowa Heartlanders and has posted a 3.17 goals-against-average and a .900 save percentage. He has played in two games for the Iowa Wild this season as well.
