Matt Bartkowski spent three years in the Wild's organization and played 13 year professionally with four different NHL teams and four different AHL teams.
The former Ohio State Buckeye and CCHA All-Rookie Team defender was signed by Paul Fenton and the Wild in 2018 on a one year deal which was followed by another one-year deal in 2019 and another by Bill Guerin in 2020.
Across three years in the organization, Bartkowski recorded one goal in three games. He played in 148 games with the Iowa Wild where he notched seven goals and 45 points.
Bartkowski's goal on Dec 29, 2018 against the Winnipeg Jets put him in some interesting company as he became the 25th player in franchise history to score in his team debut and fourth defenseman to do so joining Kurtis Foster, Marc-Andre Bergeron and Cam Barker.
Now the Pittsburgh native will join Sportsnet Pittsburgh as a studio analyst to talk all things Penguins hockey.
Currently, Bartkowski is the director of player development and assistant coach for the U15 Pittsburgh Vengeance.
He will join Jay Caufield, Colby Armstrong, and Mike Rupp with Penguins pre and post game analysis.
