TVA Sports’ Anthony Martineau went to Pierrefonds this past week to meet Montreal Canadiens’ sniper Patrik Laine. The big Finn was attending the Sport Life Hockey Camp, not as a participant, since those camps are for kids, but as a much-appreciated guest.
Before hitting the ice with the kids, the winger took the time to sign numerous autographs for the youngsters who were over the moon to have gotten his autograph, but certainly enjoyed playing alongside or against him minutes later.

Once he came off the ice, Martineau asked him if he would like to stay in Montreal beyond the expiry of his current contract, and he replied:
Of course. I don’t need to say anything more.-
The former 44-goal scorer also said he’s super happy to be back and is hoping that the Canadiens can keep on progressing after what they’ve accomplished last season. It’s been a busy week for Laine, who also put on a fashion show with his wife Jordan Leigh for their foundation, From Us To You, which aims to promote mental health awareness and to reduce stigma, empower healing, and encourage growth.
Alex Newhook, Jayden Struble, and Jakub Dobes also took to the catwalk in support of the Foundation. Speaking on Salut, Bonjour!, a morning show in Quebec, Isabelle Ethier, better known as “Femme de Hockey,” told how impressed she was by the players’ professionalism; they were all present and accounted for, and Newhook gave the stylists carte blanche; he even agreed to have his hair cut on the spot.
Over 40 celebrities also took part in the fashion show, including two players from La Victoire de Montreal, Catherine Dubois and Alexandra Labelle, and boxing champion Jean Pascal.
The event was an unmitigated success, and there’s little doubt that Laine and his wife will be looking to create other initiatives.
