The best players for the Predators have yet to sit based on their performances.

The best players for the Predators have yet to sit based on their performances.

It has been a very troubling season so far for the Nashville Predators and other than Juuse Saros, no player has played to where they are capable of.

Andrew Brunette has yet to scratch any of the top players on the team even though the play has been far less than adequate. He said, "Unfortunately, like I said, I could scratch every guy on the team. Is there going to come a time? There might."

The Predators are 28 games into the season, have seven wins, and sit last place in the NHL with 20 points. The time should have already come, even if he was trying to get the better players going. At a certain point, something has to be done and that would be one of the final decisions Brunette could make to get anything going in the room and on the ice.

He continued by saying, "Everybody wants to be held accountable. Everybody wants that, but they don't like it when they're held accountable. That's where it gets tricky. And when you've got a whole team that's probably not playing up to their capabilities or up to the expectations, it's easy to have that excuse. 'Well, how come he's not getting it?' And my point to them is 'How about you play better?'"

This is one way to go about the problem and nobody wants to be sat out games. Frustration is definitely at a high, there's been so many changes, and now there's injuries to deal with.

We've already seen some big moves around the NHL this season and I wouldn't say Nashville has been involved in any of them...yet. This problem might have to first be mended internally, but it's not looking good for the Predators the longer things play out the way they have and the disappointment grows.
