Nashville Predators Should See More Movement With Another Loss on Road TripThe Nashville Predators were starting to rebound from a poor 0-5-0 start to the season, but have now strung together three consecutive losses and are winless on their current road trip.
There have been talks about altering this team mid-season in order to change their fortunes, and with two games left on this road trip and a 5-10-3 record, another move should be imminent.
Barry Trotz is most definitely working the phones to see what can be done and it has been reported that the general manager of the Predators has examined the trade market extensively for centers.
Bringing in a player who can play second line center is a dire need and while the Predators have some good players in the AHL, it isn't enough to see the immediate change that the team desperately needs right now.
The Predators have the money and assets to buy and they have to. Trotz didn't spend all of that money on bringing in three big-name players and re-signed a couple of other key pieces to just roll over and concede this season. Staying the course and not doing anything would more than likely lead to a lost season.
Dante Fabbro being placed on waivers was the first domino to fall and there is going to be more to come. We have to anticipate a big trade as that may be the only thing that can really change the course of this unfortunate season by the Predators.
Many had Nashville slotted in as a top-10 team in the NHL heading into the 2024-25 season after the massive off-season. But chemistry, unfamiliarity, and luck can be a massive part in the success of any team. At the end of the day, every NHL team is filled with players who have made it to the top professional hockey league in the world and any team can win on any given night.
Trotz made it known what he is planning to do if the Predators don't turn it around and they haven't since that time. Nashville is 1-4-2 in their last seven games with just 12 goals scored. Something has to change as soon as possible and from Trotz's history as the Predators' GM, he should be trusted to help turn this sinking ship around.
