The Nashville Predators will face off against the New York Islanders on April 8. Their goal will be to bounce back after losing each of their last six games. This includes a 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens in their last contest on April 6.

Predators defenseman Brady Skjei will be one player from the club who fans should keep an eye on during this matchup. This is because the 31-year-old blueliner is closing in on an impressive milestone, as he needs to record just three more assists to hit the 200th of his NHL career.

Skjei is known for being an offensive threat from the point when playing at his best. In 77 games this season with the Predators, he has 10 goals, 18 assists, and 28 points. This was after he recorded at least 38 points in each of his previous three seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes, including 47 in 2023-24. Now, because of his solid offensive play throughout his career, he is very close to hitting 200 career assists.

Skjei has cooled off a bit as of late, posting one assist in his last five games. However, it will be fascinating to see if he can heat back up against the Habs and move even closer to the 200-assist mark from here.
